Doctors at Makati Medical Center are dedicated to finding innovative ways to prevent and treat diseases. These novel efforts include a form of clinical research called Clinical Trials.
Clinical Trials are studies or experiments on humans which are carried out to evaluate health-related interventions. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), interventions include, but are not restricted to, “drugs, cells and other biological products, surgical procedures, radiological procedures, devices, behavioral treatments, process-of-care changes, and preventive care.”
Designed by pharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, government research agencies, or hospitals, Clinical Trials are conducted in hospitals or clinics. Some of the trials involve several hospitals or clinics across several countries for a wider scope and coverage.
Several Clinical Trials are conducted at the Makati Medical Center which boasts of top-notch specialists and facilities.
Makati Medical Center’s Clinical Trials are all stringently reviewed and approved by its Institutional Review Board (MMC-IRB) and the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
MakatiMed’s Clinical Research Center (CRC) supports investigators in planning and executing clinical trials.
